Pune, March 1, 2021: Pune private hospital association has demanded that the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) should pay Rs 50 crores which were spent by the private hospital during the Covid-19 pandemic for the Covid -19 patients.

The association has written a letter to Pune Municipal Corporation regarding the same. The nine small and big hospitals have written the letter stating that the hospitals spent Rs50 crore for the treatment of the patients. They also mentioned that they fear that they might have to stop the treatment of the needy patients due to a financial crunch.

Since the cases were rising and the number of beds in the trust and public hospitals were limited, the PMC requested beds in private hospitals for which the PMC would pay the bills. However, the PMC failed to pay back.

Bomi Bhot, president, Pune Hospital Association said, “We have been writing the letters to PMC again and again, but we have not received any payment. This has put the small private hospitals in a fix. It is becoming difficult day by day to manage the hospital administration. Despite several attempts to call PMC officials did not send back any response.”
