Pune Municipal Corporation Offices to Close on Election Day, Essential Services Exempt

Pune, 14th November 2024: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has declared a holiday for all its offices on the day of the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Elections, scheduled for 20th November, except for those providing essential services. The decision follows instructions from the Pune District Collector’s Office to ensure employees can exercise their right to vote. In compliance, PMC Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosale has issued the necessary orders.

Employees working in essential services will receive a two-hour relaxation on polling day. Furthermore, all employees are required to submit a report confirming their participation in voting to the PMC’s Labour Welfare Department, which must be certified by the respective department heads.
