Pune, 20th December 2023: In a significant move, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is gearing up to recruit 100 Junior Engineers, with the official advertisement slated for release within the next ten days.

Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Vikram Kumar shared this update, highlighting the removal of the three-year experience requirement for Junior Engineer recruitment from the Service Entry Rules. The decision has received approval from the Urban Development Department of the Maharashtra state government.

The Service Access Regulations, approved by the Municipal Corporation in 2014, initially mandated a three-year experience prerequisite for the role of Junior Engineer. This stipulation led to complications during last year’s recruitment process when it was discovered that some candidates had submitted fake experience documents. Following complaints and investigations, three engineers were relieved of their positions after it was confirmed that they secured their jobs through fraudulent means.

Responding to the concerns and demands to revise the experience condition, the Urban Development Department of the State Government granted preliminary approval for its removal. Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar now confirms the official elimination of the experience requirement, paving the way for the upcoming recruitment drive.

Kumar emphasized that the decision to eliminate the experience prerequisite aims to streamline the recruitment process and ensure a fair and transparent selection of candidates for the coveted Junior Engineer positions. With the Urban Development Department’s backing, the Municipal Corporation is set to release the recruitment advertisement in the coming days, marking a fresh opportunity for aspiring Junior Engineers.
