Pune: Traffic Diversion Near Nehru Memorial Chowk In Camp Till May 14th
Camp, 11th May 2024: The work of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 for the Pune Lok Sabha constituency will be conducted at the grounds of BJ Medical College (BJMC) near Nehru Memorial Chowk. From this location, EVM machines, VVPAT machines, and other voting-related equipment will be distributed and collected. As a result, there will be increased vehicular traffic in the vicinity.
Anticipating this, Rohidas Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), has implemented some traffic changes from Nehru Memorial Chowk to the Pune City Police Commissionerate.
The changes are as follows:
From 12th May, 12 AM, to 14th May, 8 AM, access will be closed to all vehicles from Kirad Chowk to Nehru Memorial Chowk.
Alternate routes:
1) Vehicles heading to Pune Railway Station on Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Road via Kirad Chowk and Nehru Memorial Chowk should go to Blue Nile Chowk from Dorabjee Chowk, then proceed to Sadhu Vaswani Chowk via Kirad Chowk, or continue to their desired destination via Blue Nile Chowk and Council Hall Chowk.
2) Vehicles should proceed straight from Nehru Chowk towards Bolhai Chowk, heading towards Pune Railway Station.
Access will be closed to vehicles travelling from Sadhu Vaswani to Nehru Chowk from 12th May, 12 AM, to 14th May, 8 AM.
Alternate routes:
1) From Sadhu Vaswani Statue, proceed towards Post Office Chowk, then turn right towards Bolhai Chowk and continue towards the desired destination.
2) Turn left from Kirad Chowk to reach Blue Nile Chowk, then proceed straight towards ISKCON Mandir Chowk. Turn right towards Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Chowk and continue to the desired destination.
