Pune, 31st March 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has announced changes in its boundaries, with the exclusion of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi from the municipality limits. The Maharashtra government has issued a notification regarding the revised limits of PMC.

The decision to exclude Fursungi and Uruli Devachi was made due to several reasons including inadequate infrastructure and poor civic amenities. The two villages have been facing various issues, including a lack of water supply and sewage facilities, which have impacted the quality of life of its residents. Now a municipal council will be formed for the development of these two villages.

The decision to exclude the two villages from the PMC has been met with mixed reactions. Some residents have expressed disappointment with the move, while others believe that it will lead to better development prospects in the long run.

The Maharashtra government has assured that the development of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi will not be affected by the decision. The state government will provide funds for the development of the two villages.

The revised boundaries of the PMC will come into effect from April 1, 2023. The PMC has urged the residents of Fursungi and Uruli Devachi to cooperate with the decision and assured that the development of the two villages will be taken up on priority.
