Pune Police Seize Goods Worth Rs 17 Lakh from Illegal Gas Refilling Station
Pune, 31st March 2023: A senior police officer received a tip-off about an illegal gas refilling station in the Tukainagar locality of Vadgaon Budruk in Pune. Accordingly, the Social Security cell of Pune city police raided the location and found individuals illegally refilling Hindustan Petroleum Gas and Bharat Petroleum Gas Company residential and commercial gas cylinders, in violation of the Essential Commodities Act.
The four accused were arrested on the spot and charged under Sections 285, 286, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act. Goods worth Rs 17,22,700 were seized, including 114 gas cylinders, two three-wheeler trucks, one four-wheeler truck, and other commercial materials.
The Sinhagad police are conducting further investigations into the case.
