Pune, 30th November 2024: Pune MP and Union Minister of State, Murlidhar Mohol, has addressed the speculation circulating on social media regarding his candidacy for the Chief Minister’s post in Maharashtra. While the delay in announcing Devendra Fadnavis as the Chief Minister has fueled rumors, Mohol categorically dismissed the claims as baseless and fabricated.

The BJP-led Mahayuti coalition secured a decisive majority in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, winning over 230 seats, with the BJP claiming 132 seats, Shiv Sena 57, and the NCP 41. Following the results, Eknath Shinde resigned as Chief Minister, leaving the post vacant.

Although Fadnavis is widely expected to assume the role, the delay in the official announcement has sparked speculation about alternative candidates, including Mohol.

Responding to the rumors, Mohol clarified:
The discussion about my name for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra on social media is baseless and fabricated. The Bharatiya Janata Party fought the Maharashtra Assembly elections under the leadership of Honorable Devendraji Fadnavis, and the people of Maharashtra have given us a historic mandate.

Mohol emphasized the importance of party discipline in the BJP, stating:
In our party, decisions are made unanimously by the Parliamentary Board, not based on social media discussions. Once a decision is made, it becomes supreme for all of us. Hence, the speculation about my name holds no significance.

The delay in Fadnavis’ confirmation and ongoing discussions about ministerial allocations have left party workers and the public eager for clarity.
