Pune: Players from 5 Countries to Compete in 20th Shri Maheshwaranand Saraswati Memorial All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament

Pune, 30th November 2024: Players from 5 countries will be seen in action at the 20th Shri Maheshwaranand Saraswati Memorial All India Open FIDE Rating Chess Tournament which is being organised by Buddhibal Kreeda Trust and to be held at Ganesh Sabhagruha and Ashwamedh Hall Karve Road, Pune from 1st December 2024.
Prakash Kunte, Trustee of Buddhibal Kreeda Trust said that, This tournament will be organized by Buddhibal Kreeda Trust and is recognized by All India Chess Federation will see 450 Chess Players which included GM Laxman RR(2248), IM Anuj Shrivatri(2328), IM Nitish Belurkar(2257), IM Sammed Shete(2253),IM Ameya Audi(2241), IM Viani Dcunha (2229), IM Himal Gusain (2199), IM Sameer Kathmale(2150), IM Vikramaditya Kulkarni (2141) IM Ramnathan Balasubramaniam (1940) in action making it one of the strongest tournament to be held in Pune.The Tournament will be conducted by Chief arbiter IA Rajendra Shidore and Deputy Chief Arbiter Vinita Shrotri. We have received entries from India, Germany, Iceland, Netherlands, USA.
The tournament will be conducted in the Swiss League Format and will be played in 9th Rounds. The tournament will offer a total prize money of Rs.300000/-. The tournament will be inaugurated on the 1st December 2024 at 9.45am at the hands of Ashish Desai, Owner of Sujanil Chemo, Ashwin Trimal, VP of PDCC and Owner of Truespace Realty, Niranjan Godbole, Secretary of MCA and Dr. Sanjay Karavade.
