Camp, 27th April 2025: In a powerful show of solidarity and sorrow, the Muslim community of Pune organized a Mukh Morcha and candle march on April 26 to condemn the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The peaceful protest and tribute ceremony began at 7:30 pm from Bata Chowk on Camp MG Road and concluded at Aurora Tower Chowk, where candles were lit to honor the innocent victims.
The event was jointly organized by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch Pune Mahanagar and Ehsaas Madad Foundation. Participants from all walks of life gathered to express their grief and demand peace.
Leading the initiative were Janab Javed Sheikh, Pune Mahanagar Convenor of Muslim Rashtriya Manch, along with Sabiha Sheikh and Shakeel Sheikh from Ehsaas Madad Foundation. Their efforts were supported by several respected figures across various communities and political affiliations.
The candlelight tribute witnessed active participation not only from community leaders but also from a large number of women and young members associated with the Ehsaas Madad Foundation.
Participants lit candles, offered prayers, and stood in silent tribute for the souls lost in the brutal attack. The atmosphere was filled with a mix of grief, solidarity, and a call for unity against terrorism.
Speaking at the event, organizers emphasized that terrorism has no religion and that humanity must stand together against such inhuman acts. “We gathered not as members of any one community, but as Indians mourning the loss of our fellow citizens,” said one of the speakers.
The rally served as a poignant reminder that Pune, known for its inclusive spirit, continues to rise in unity against acts of violence, demanding peace, justice, and compassion for all.
