Viman Nagar, 27th April 2025: Starting Monday, travelers passing through Pune International Airport will be able to enjoy premium refreshments at pocket-friendly prices, thanks to the launch of Udaan Café. Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, announced the initiative via social media on Sunday evening.
“The wait is over; tea for ₹10, coffee for ₹20 at Pune International Airport, starting Monday,” Mohol tweeted. “In a step towards making air travel more accessible and comfortable, ‘Udaan Café’ will begin operations at Pune International Airport from Monday, April 28, 2025.”
The café, inspired by the vision of ‘Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik’ championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and guided by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, aims to provide affordable yet high-quality food options for air travelers.
Passengers can now buy tea and water for ₹10, and coffee, samosas, and sweets for ₹20 each — a move expected to significantly ease the travel experience, especially for frequent flyers, senior citizens, and budget-conscious travelers.
“After receiving an overwhelming response at Kolkata, Ahmedabad, and Chennai airports, ‘Udaan Café’ is now ready to serve travelers at Pune International Airport,” Mohol added in his announcement.
The initiative marks a shift toward making Indian airports more traveler-friendly, balancing comfort and affordability without compromising quality. With Pune airport catering to lakhs of passengers every month, the launch of Udaan Café is seen as a timely upgrade, offering better choices for food and beverages at reasonable prices.
Travelers and frequent flyers have welcomed the move, calling it a “much-needed step” to make airports in India more inclusive.
The Udaan Café is set to open at Pune International Airport from April 28, adding to the positive changes in the overall passenger experience.
