Pune: Mutha River Under-ground Metro Tunnel Work To Begin Soon
Pune, October 7, 2020: The work to construct a underwater tunnel at Mutha river will begin soon. This will be the second phase of Pune Metro work in the city which will be done according to the availability of the workers.
The ‘break through’ moment was celebrated recently by hoisting Tricolor at District court when the work from Agriculture college to Shivajinagar district court was completed. However, the second the phase of the metro work will begin soon which will be under Mutha river water.
This has generated curiosity among Puneites as the tunnel will be constructed 28 meter deep. “The work will begin from the court and will end at Phadke houd chowk. The entire stretch will be 650 meters. Every day work of six meters will take place”, said the metro officials.
According to officials, the skilled workers will carry out underwater tunnel work. These will be workers trained workers. While carrying out the work below the ground does not pose any danger to the buildings or any other construction above the ground.
