Pune, 7th May 2025: In a decisive response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India carried out a series of airstrikes late Wednesday night, targeting nine terrorist hideouts across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Dubbed “Operation Sindoor,” the mission comes nearly 15 days after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The Pahalgam terror attack claimed the life of Pune resident Santosh Jagdale, leaving his family devastated. His daughter, Asawari Jagdale, reacted with emotional resolve following the airstrikes. “My father would be proud of this response. Today, the army has truly paid tribute to those killed in the Pahalgam attack,” she said. “When we heard the name Operation Sindoor and understood its symbolism, we couldn’t hold back our tears.”

Asawari shared how their family received early morning calls informing them of the strikes. “We were grieving for the last 15 days. Today, we finally have something to feel proud about. The fact that India targeted terror camps and not Pakistan’s military shows maturity and precision.”

Pragati Jagdale, wife of the slain victim, also welcomed the action. “The way terrorists wiped off our sindoor has now been answered appropriately. The name Operation Sindoor fits perfectly. These terrorists didn’t just attack people; they targeted the dignity of Indian women. Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows that pain. Hearing the operation’s name brought tears to my eyes. I thank the government from the bottom of my heart,” she said.

The strikes targeted key leadership and infrastructure of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Taiba, groups long accused of orchestrating attacks on Indian soil. Following the airstrikes, Pakistan closed its airspace over Karachi and Lahore. Airports in Lahore and Sialkot have been shut down for 48 hours.
