Pune: “Name Bridge At Chandni Chowk After Senapati Bapat,” Demands MP Supriya Sule
Pune, 11th May 2023: MP Supriya Sule has requested the Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to name the bridge being constructed at Chandni Chowk after freedom fighter Senapati Bapat.
In this background, MP Supriya Sule demanded through a tweet to name the bridge after Senapati Bapat. The bridge being constructed at Chandni Chowk is important for Mulshi Taluka, Pune City, and the surrounding area. Also, this bridge is going to be an important niche on the Pune-Satara-Bangalore highway.
The bridge is being constructed at Chandni Chowk to ease traffic congestion and frequent accidents. The work of this bridge is in the final stage.
In her tweet, Sule said, “Senapati Bapat, a great freedom fighter from Mulshi taluka conducted the ‘Mulshi Satyagraha’ in 1921, which was the first major record of the struggle of farmers. This satyagraha has recently completed 100 years. On this occasion, it is possible to express our gratitude towards Senapati Bapat by naming the flyover bridge at Chandni Chowk after him.”
Sule also mentioned one should think positively about this and take a decision.
