Pune: Nawu Marvel’s 4th win assures place in the final of Bridgestone Golf Premier League
Pune, 9th November 2021: Khushal Shinagare and Rahul Wanchoo posted cards of 91 and 88 respectively at the challenging par-68 9 Aces Golf Course in Karjat to help their team Nawu Marvel to its fourth win from as many rounds and storm into the final of the second edition of the month-long 6-team Bridgestone Golf Premier League – Belmondo being played at three courses—LodhaBelmondo, the Blueridge course in Hinjawadi.
In Round 4 Nawu Marvel was up against eagle strikers at a course featuring valleys, hilltop tee boxes, mini forests, water bodies and a signature, island hole.
Shinagare who starred in round 3did well considering the challenge posed by the course and the opponents. He submitted a card of 23 over 91 while Wanchoo was 20 over 88, being the top two players for NawuMarvel. For eagle strikersSanjev Thakur (80) and Shailesh Kudale(87) dd well. Eventually, eagle strikers ended 812-815 as against NawuMarvel, but after adjusting strokes as per the auction valuation Nawu Marvel won 855-870.
Among the other key feature of the fourth round was that Regal Warriors finally won on their first game of the league—an upset win over Air Strikers, for whom it has become difficult to reach the grand finale starring for regals was a budding pro golfer, the 14-year-old Sriram Subramanian, who posted a card of 11-over 79.
As the things stand after four rounds, Nawu Marvel is at the top of the heap with 8 points, followed by Eagle Strikers and Bindas Boys, Who both have 5 points each. Air Strikers are fourth with 4 points, Regal Warriors(2) and Amigos (0) are the bottom rung teams.
With the things interestingly poised and the final league game slated to be held on December 5. At the LodhaBelmondopar-54course, it would be between Urse, Eagle Strikers, Bindas Boys and Air Strikers to contest for the number 2 spot to earn the right to play Nawu Marvel in the final.
