Pune: NCP Stages Hunger Strike Against Irregular Water Supply Parvati Constituency

Pune, 17th January 2023: Water supply has been disrupted in various settlements and societies in Parvati Assembly Constituency. The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) staged a hunger strike today at the Swargate Water Supply Department against the lack of water supply from the Parvati Water Centre to the Padmavati Pumping Station.

For the past several days, the water supply in Parvati, Bibvewadi, Sahkar Nagar, Satara Road, and other areas has been disturbed, even though the politicians are making daily demands to restore the water supply, the authorities are looking at this complaint as a drought.

Citizens are suffering a lot due to frequent interruptions of the water supply. Water supply should be done at the proper pressure and smoothly, for the justice and rights of citizens, a protest was held at Swargate Water Supply Department on behalf of the Nationalist Congress Party unit of Parvati Assembly Constituency.

NCP City President Prashant Jagtap and other leaders including Santosh Nangre, Vipul Mysurkar, Pradeep Deshmukh were present on this occasion.

 

For the past several days, water is being supplied from the Bibvewadi water tank in Parvati Constituency to all areas with very low pressure, especially in Ward No Old 28, 36, 35, 37, and 39, water is coming at very low pressure and in some places, water is not even coming. Due to this, the citizens are suffering, hence, the NCP party also went on a two-day hunger strike on May 9, 2022, in this regard.

In the afternoon, the Chief Engineer of the Water Supply Department in Pune City, Aniruddha Pavaskar, and concerned officers of his department visited the protest site. Also, on this occasion, citizens as well as office bearers presented their problems faced in their respective areas.

Reportedly, the concerned department also promised to solve the problems and errors in Parvati assembly constituencies by next Saturday. A written letter for the same issue is issued by Deputy Engineer Ajith Naiknaware and Anjusha Reddy.

If the problem is not solved within the given time frame then a very strong agitation will be performed, said Santosh Nangre.

City President Prashant Jagtap, State Spokesperson Ankush Kakade, Pradip Deshmukh, Ravindra Malvadkar, Mahesh Shinde, Mrunalini Vani, Sashikala Kumbhar, Vipul Mhaisurkar, Balasaheb Atal, Dilip Arundekar, Sameer Pawar, Sanjay Damodare, Vijay Bagade, Rahul Gund, Satish Dharmawat, Vinay Patil, Vidya Takwale, Rupali Bibwe, Rani Damodare, Amol Nanavare, Lakhan Waghmare, Tushar Sheshnaik, Rajendra Chorghe, Shankar Shahane, Pratik Konde, Amol Shinde, Krunal Gaikwad, Saurabh Mane, Santosh Pole, Avinash Shikhapure, Amol Pardeshi, Sandesh Nakte along with other officials and citizens were present for the same agitation.
