Shivajinagar, 23rd February 2022: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) staged a big protest against the arrest of NCP leader and Maharashtra’s Minority Minister Nawab Malik. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) earlier arrested Malik in the underworld don Dawood Ibrahim-linked money laundering case.

The NCP workers gathered at Jhansi Rani Chowk on JM Road around 5 pm and raised slogans. There were slogans like, “BJP is afraid of us and so brings ED forward.”

According to the NCP, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is using central government agencies to attack and destabilise Maharashtra’s Mah Vikas Aghadi government. “ED has become a puppet of BJP and NCP will take this protest to a wider level in Maharashtra”, the protestors said

Earlier Maharashtra BJP president Chandrakant Patil demanded the resignation of Nawab Malik.

In response to it, Pune’s NCP president Prashant Jagtap said, “63 percent of Ministers in Modi’s Cabinet have cases of rape, murder and cheating. So it should be PM Modi who should resign first. BJP always hides the evil works of its ministers and leaders by misuse of central agencies.”

NCP City President Prashant Jagtap, Leader of Opposition Dipali Dhumal, Pradip Deshmukh, Mrinalini Vani, Rupali Thombre Patil, Kishore Kamble, Sushma Satpute were present in this agitation.
