Pune: New Bridge To Replace Hazardous Iron Structure, Boost Connectivity In Hinjawadi Area

Hinjawadi, 29th January 2025: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has approved the construction of a new bridge over the Pavana River, connecting Mamurdi and Sangavade. PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh has approved the project, which comes with a budget of 36.66 crore rupees and a 12-month completion timeline.

The bridge project, long-demanded by local residents, aims to improve connectivity between Mamurdi, Sangavade, and the Hinjawadi area. It will replace the existing iron bridge, which has become hazardous over time.

The total approved budget for the project is Rs 36.66 Crore, slightly lower than the original tender amount of Rs 37.25 Crore. The tender for the project was published on 4th September 2024, attracting bids from four contractors. After evaluation, the joint venture of A.R. Construction and T&T Infra Limited secured the contract with the lowest bid.

The new bridge will accommodate all types of vehicles, significantly improving transportation in the area. This infrastructure development is expected to ease travel between Mamurdi, Sangavade, and Hinjawadi, addressing a long-standing need of the local community.
