Pune News: Toddler Dies After Being Crushed Under Pickup Vehicle in Kharadi Area
Kharadi, 31st January 2026: A two-year-old boy was killed after being crushed under the wheels of a pickup vehicle in the Kharadi area of Pune on Thursday evening. Police have registered a case against the driver in connection with the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Mayur Amar Malve (2). The accused driver, Raju Magan Dhole (66), a resident of Balkrishna Apartment on Dhole Patil Road, has been booked. A complaint was lodged by the child’s mother, Poonam Amar Malve (25), a resident of Dhole Patil Wada in Kharadi, at the Kharadi police station.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7 pm on January 29 when Mayur was playing in an open space in front of his house. The area also houses a cattle shed owned by Dhole. At the time, Dhole arrived at the spot in a pickup vehicle used for milk transportation.
While the child was playing, he came under the vehicle’s wheel and sustained serious injuries. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin.
Senior Police Inspector Seema Dhakane visited the spot following the incident. A case has been registered against the pickup vehicle driver, and further investigation is being carried out by Assistant Police Inspector Godse, police said.
