Mohammadwadi, 14th October 2026: Residents of NIBM Annexe and surrounding areas of Hadapsar have urged Pune Police to take strict action against motorcyclists allegedly indulging in reckless riding and creating excessive noise during late-night hours. Shiv Sena Pune city chief Pramod Nana Bhangire has also called for action against those disturbing public peace.

The complaints primarily concern NIBM Road, Mahadevwadi and the Raheja Vista Circle area, where residents allege that young bikers frequently speed through residential streets and rev motorcycles fitted with loud or modified silencers. The disturbance has reportedly affected residents, particularly during the night and early morning.

Residents say the persistent noise is disrupting sleep and causing inconvenience to families, senior citizens and children. They have expressed concern over the continuation of the nuisance despite repeatedly bringing the issue to the attention of the police.

Pramod Nana Bhangire, Shiv Sena Pune city chief, said, “Motorcyclists riding recklessly and creating excessive noise late at night are disturbing the peace of residents in Hadapsar. Senior citizens, children and families are being forced to suffer because of this nuisance. The police must take serious note of the complaints and initiate strict action against those responsible.”

He further said, “Citizens have the right to live peacefully in their homes. Those who violate traffic rules, ride recklessly and disturb public peace must face strict legal action. Motorcycles fitted with illegal modified silencers should be inspected, and unauthorised silencers should be removed. Pune Police must intervene immediately to prevent such incidents from continuing.”

Raj Singh, a resident, said, “Late-night bike racing and the use of loud, modified silencers have become a serious concern for residents of NIBM Annexe. People deserve peace and proper sleep in their own homes. We urge Pune Police to take strict action against those responsible and ensure that residential areas are not turned into racing tracks.”

Jaymala Dhankikar, a resident, said, “The constant noise from speeding motorcycles is disturbing families, senior citizens and children. Despite repeated complaints, the problem continues to affect our daily lives. We appeal to the police to increase patrolling in the area and take effective measures to stop this nuisance.”

Nitin D’Souza, a resident, said, “Residential roads are meant for people to travel safely, not for reckless riding and unnecessary noise at night. The authorities must inspect vehicles with modified silencers and take action against violators. We hope the police will address our concerns and help restore peace in the neighbourhood.”

Residents have called for increased police patrolling in the affected areas, inspections of motorcycles suspected of violating noise regulations, and the removal of illegal modified silencers. They have also demanded strict legal action against those found riding recklessly or causing excessive noise.

The residents emphasised that the issue extends beyond noise pollution, raising concerns about road safety and the quality of life in residential neighbourhoods. They have appealed to Pune Police to take preventive measures and ensure that the disturbance does not continue.

Residents are now seeking a sustained enforcement drive across NIBM Annexe and neighbouring parts of Hadapsar to ensure safer roads and peaceful nights for local families.
