Pune Nights Stay Warm: No Dip in Temperatures Expected Until November End
Pune, 24th November 2025: Night temperatures in Pune continue to remain above normal, and weather experts say the city is unlikely to see any dip in minimum temperatures until the end of November.
“Due to the current disturbance, the setting of the northerly winter wind pattern will take longer, likely until the end of November. Therefore, a sharp fall in night temperatures is unlikely for Maharashtra, including Pune,” said Anupam Kashyapi, former head of the weather forecasting division at IMD Pune.
Moisture incursion from the Bay of Bengal, combined with its interaction with cooler northern winds, has led to dense fog during late nights and early mornings — a pattern now visible across several parts of the city.
A well-marked low-pressure area over the South Andaman Sea, expected to intensify into a cyclonic circulation named Senyar by November 25–26 in the southeast Bay of Bengal, is disrupting wind patterns over central India. Maharashtra is experiencing similar conditions. After a 12-day cold spell that began on November 6, the state is now witnessing a steady rise in night temperatures.
In Pune, the minimum temperature on Monday, November 24, was recorded at 17°C — around 2–3°C above normal. Other parts of the city reported minimum temperatures as high as 20°C. This warmer trend is likely to persist through the month, with no significant drop expected.
