Pune, 24th November 2025: The Pune Police have detained six women from Mohidepur in Jalgaon Jamod taluka after a video of a burglary at the bungalow of bullion trader Vijay Vaidya went viral on social media.

The incident took place at Vaidya’s residence in the Market Yard area of the city.

CCTV footage circulating online shows a group of women breaking into the bungalow, stealing valuables, and fleeing. Police said the suspects later attempted to sell gold and silver ornaments—worth crores—at unusually low prices in the bullion markets of Khamgaon, Nandura, and Malkapur. This unusual behaviour alerted traders, who immediately informed the police.

Acting on this tip-off and the CCTV evidence, a Pune Police team traced the suspects to Jalgaon Jamod. With assistance from the local police, six women were detained from Mohidepur on November 22 for questioning. They were later brought to Pune for further investigation.

Jalgaon Jamod Police Inspector Nitin Patil confirmed the development, stating that all six women were taken into custody in connection with the burglary case.
The detained women have been identified as:
• Aina Sukhdev Solanke, around 26
• Meena Ravi Solanke, around 25
• Sunita Pintu Solanke, around 30 (reported to be disabled)
• Hina Sheshrao Shinde, around 18
• Batti Ganpat Shinde, around 25
• Pooja Krishna Solanke, 25

Police officials said that four of the women are married, while two are unmarried. The investigation into the burglary and the recovery of stolen valuables is ongoing.
