Pune: Nitin Gadkari Under Fire as Amol Kolhe Highlights Traffic Woes in Social Media Post
Somatne Phata, 19th November 2023: Member of Parliament, Dr. Amol Kolhe, encountered a traffic bottleneck on the old Pune-Mumbai highway while en route to an event in Moshi. The incident unfolded on Saturday evening, as Dr. Kolhe found himself ensnared in a traffic jam at Somatne Phata.
Taking matters into his own hands, he disembarked from his vehicle, personally intervening to alleviate the congestion at Somatne Phata Chowk. In a video shared on his X handle, Dr. Kolhe is seen directing drivers to facilitate a smoother flow of traffic.
Simultaneously, the MP used the opportunity to express his views, taking a subtle jab at Nitin Gadkari and the government. In his social media post, Dr. Kolhe remarked, “Despite the initiation of the bypass on the Pune-Nashik highway through collective efforts, the completion of the elevated corridor between Khed and Nashik Phata, as well as between Wagholi and Shirur on the Pune-Nagar highway, remains pending. This results in daily traffic congestion for the public.”
He continued, shedding light on his advocacy efforts in Parliament, emphasizing the need for the elevated corridor. Dr. Kolhe revealed ongoing communication with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and the National Highway Authority, securing sanctioning of 9 thousand crores and 11 thousand crores, respectively, for the projects. Despite the allocated funds, the actual commencement of the work is yet to transpire.
“I persistently bring this daily plight of the people to the attention of the Central Government,” Dr. Kolhe asserted, expressing concern over the sluggish pace of these crucial projects. The MP urged for expedited action to alleviate the regular traffic woes faced by the public.
