Pune: No.3 Provost & Security Unit Of Indian Air Force Marks 75 Glorious Years

Viman Nagar, 19th November 2023: The No.3 Royal Indian Air Force Provost & Security Flight, established on 15 Nov 1948 in Ghorpadi, Pune, has a storied history. Evolving into 3 Provost & Security Unit in 1974, the Unit relocated to Akash Nagar near Yerwada Central Jail in 1991.

Instrumental during the 1965 and 1971 conflicts with Pakistan, using Pune as a staging base for crucial operations, the Unit, fondly nicknamed ‘Eagle Eyes,’ recently celebrated its 75th anniversary from 15-17 Nov 23.

 

In a momentous event on 17th November (Friday), a special Unit Medallion was released to commemorate this milestone. The celebration was graced by esteemed guests, including Air Cmde AS Saraph VSM, Air Cmde Ashutosh Vaidya, Air Cmde Shekhar Yadav, Air Cmde Sunil T Ninan, and others. Wg Cdr TN Swamy, Commanding Officer & Assistant Provost Marshal of the Unit, expressed gratitude to AF authorities, Maharashtra Police, and Civil Administration for their unwavering support.
