Kasba Peth, 24th February 2025: In a major step toward cleanliness and urban beautification, MLA Hemant Rasane announced today that unauthorized flex banners will no longer be displayed in public places within the Kasba Assembly Constituency. This initiative is part of the Clean, Beautiful, Developed Kasba campaign.

Speaking at a press conference, Rasane shared insights from his recent study tour of Indore, which has ranked first in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for seven consecutive years. Accompanied by sanitation workers, he observed that Indore’s success is based on four key pillars:

A well-planned administrative strategy assisted by information technology
Strong political will
Public participation
A flex-free city

“I have decided to lead by example,” Rasane said. “As part of this campaign, I will not display unauthorized flex banners in public places. This decision will help improve cleanliness, environmental health, traffic management, and overall aesthetics.”

To ensure the success of this initiative, the administration has intensified efforts over the past three months. Key achievements so far include:
Closure of 26 chronic waste dumping spots through continuous follow-ups.
Public awareness campaigns to discourage littering in previously affected areas.
Increase in sanitation staff and frequency of waste collection in some locations.
Integration of information technology to streamline waste management efforts.
Beautification of cleared sites in the near future.

To mark the initiative, a ‘Cleanliness Narayan’ Mahapuja will be held on February 26 from 5 to 7 PM at these 26 locations, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Sant Gadge Maharaj, a pioneer of social reform and cleanliness movements.

During the event, cleaning tools and materials will be worshipped, symbolizing the community’s commitment to maintaining hygiene. The launch of this initiative will take place at 11 AM near New English School, Ramanbag, in the presence of dignitaries from various fields. Rasane urged citizens to participate in large numbers.

In addition to the cleanliness drive, Rasane outlined his vision for Kasba’s development over the next five years, highlighting key projects he has discussed with Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
