Pune: Now COVID -19 patients can be discharged within 5 days from hospitals

Pune, June 2, 2020: Corona patients who have recovered from Sassoon Hospital have been discharged within five days. Generally, a period of ten days from the date of onset of symptoms before admission to the hospital is considered for discharge. Now more than 20 patients have been discharged before ten days.  

 

According to the new protocol released by the central government, patients with mild symptoms without fever for three days in a row are allowed to be discharged. Previously, the COVID-19 patients had to be admitted for at least 14 days; patients were tested twice before they were given the discharge.

 

Meanwhile, the health department informed that some private hospitals were also discharging the patients before they complete ten days from the date of onset of symptoms. The central government has changed the discharge protocol in second week of May.  

 

Till 1st June, there were 7826 COVID-19 patients in Pune district including 6601 from Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) area, 526 from Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 309 from Pune Cantonment, 33 from Khadki Cantonment, 2 from Dehuroad Cantonment and 355 from Pune rural areas. In the Pune rural areas, there are 9 from Baramati town, 8 from Baramati rural, 50 from Daund town, 1 from Jejuri, 2 from Talegaon Dabhade, 1 from Chakan, 1 from Saswad, 2 from Lonavala,1 from Shirur town, 98 from Haveli, 17 from Shirur, 22 from Junnar, 23 from Khed, 20 from Mulshi, 31 from Velha, 17 from Bhor, 5 from Indapur, 2 from Daund rural, 12 from Maval, 5 from Purandar and 28 from Ambegaon.
