Pune, 4th November 2021: For accurate and timely measurement of lands in Maharashtra State, the Land and Records department in association of Survey of India has erected Continuous Operation Reference Stations (CROS) at 77 places in the State.

With the help of CROS, the GPS reading can be done in just 30 seconds. Because of CROS the land measurements will be more accurate and timelier. On a trial basis, the Land Records department has used this technique at Haveli taluka.

With the help of this technique over five acres of land can be measured in 30 minutes. Currently, the department uses an ETS machine for measurement. It uses longitude and latitude. This takes up to four hours, but with CROS technique it can be done in a few minutes.
