Pune: One Arrested After 10 Months For Defrauding Nearly Rs 50 Lakh

Pune, 12th March 2023: Chandannagar police arrested an accused from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh who ran away with cash (Rs 50 lakh) for the order of steel. The accused had been absconding for the last ten months.

The name of the arrested person is Ramlakhan Prajapati, a resident of Raipur, Chhattisgarh.

Accused Prajapati had taken an advance of Rs 50 lakh from the complainant for the steel material required for the construction of the building. After taking the order in the name of Lucent Steel Pvt Ltd firm, Prajapati ran away without providing the steel. A case was registered at Chandannagar police station in this regard.

The accused was absconding for the last 10 months after closing his firm. Based on technical analysis, Police official Namdev Gadare received the information that the accused was in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Accordingly, a team of Police Sub-Inspector Goraksh Ghodke, along with Police officials Bapu Bhujbal, Sachin Randive, and Namdev Gadare, reached Kanpur.

Based on technical analysis, Ramlakhan was detained in Kanpur. He confessed to the crime during interrogation.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashikant Borate, ACP Kishore Jadhav, Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Landge, Police Inspector Jagannath Jankar, Sub-Inspector Goraksh Ghodke, Namdev Gadare, Bapu Bhujbal, Sachin Randive, Tandale, and Kale.
