Pune: One Lakh Maratha Community Members Expected At Jarange Patil’s Upcoming Public Meeting In Kharadi
Pune, 13th November 2023: Manoj Jarange Patil, the leader of the Maratha reservation movement, is set to address a public meeting in Kharadi on November 20th. The event, scheduled to take place at Mahalaxmi Lawns or an alternate venue in Kharadi at 10 am, anticipates the participation of around one lakh members from the Maratha community. Sachin Satpute, a member of the Maratha Samaj Movement Committee, shared details about the gathering’s planning during a press conference.
Following the second phase of meetings in Khed, Baramati, and Indapur in Pune district, Jarange Patil’s upcoming meeting in Kharadi aims to further galvanize the Maratha reservation movement. The demand centres around providing Kunbi certificates to the Maratha community and granting reservations accordingly.
The organizers assured comprehensive arrangements for the gathering, including stages on open spaces, accommodation facilities, parking, water supply, mobile sanitation, and on-site health services for all attendees. Anticipating a turnout of over one lakh members, the planning has been meticulous to cater to the needs of the vast gathering.
Jarange Patil has been actively advocating for Maratha community reservation and, after setting a one-month deadline in the first movement, extended it to 40 days. The government, failure to meet this deadline, led to Jarange Patil intensifying his efforts. Subsequently, the government granted a two-month deadline, prompting Jarange Patil’s ongoing statewide campaign to press for the Maratha reservation.
