Pune: One Side of Yerwada Bridge Temporarily Closed for Repairs
Yerwada, 9th May 2025: The Pune City Traffic Police has announced the temporary closure of the Tarkeshwar Bridge—an important link between Yerwada and Koregaon Park—due to damage to one of its expansion joints. The repair work is being carried out by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), and the bridge will remain closed to vehicular traffic for three days, from May 9 to May 11, 2025.
In an official advisory, ACP (Traffic) Subhash Nikam stated that repairs are already underway. “The PMC team has poured the concrete, and it will require time to set properly”, he added.
Commuters are urged to avoid the Tarkeshwar Bridge (Yerwada to Koregaon Park) during the closure period and use alternative routes to minimize congestion. The traffic department has appealed to the public for cooperation to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for all road users.
