Pune: Only 40% Seats Filled After Three Regular Rounds For FYJC Admissions
Pune 18th July 2023: The Maharashtra State Education Board’s centralised admission process for the First Year Junior College (FYCJ) completed three regular rounds on July 14 but even then around over 60% of the seats are still vacant. The officials have now commenced a special round for the admission.
The board has rolled out centralised admission process for Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Nashik, Mumbai and Nagpur. According to officials, a total of 44,000 students got admissions in the first three rounds. In Pune division alone, around 71,000 seats out of 1,15,000 are vacant after three regular rounds.
According to reports, majority of the vacant seats are with the arts stream while over 70% of the seats in Science and Commerce stream have been filled. The officials have now rolled out a special round for the admissions from July 17.
