Pune: Opium Worth Rs 4.6 Lakh Seized, One Arrested
Pune 8th July 2023: The Anti Narcotics Cell of Pune City Police has arrested a person from Sukhsagarnagar area of the city and have seized Opium worth Rs 4.6 lakh from his possession. The accused was arrested while he was trying to sell Opium in the city.
According to police, the accused identified as Laduram Vagaram Bishnoi (20) is a resident of Jalore district of Rajasthan and currently lives in Kondhwa, Pune. The police team had received a tip-off about a person selling opium in the Sukhsagaarnagar area. Accordingly the police team laid a trap and the accused was nabbed.
Police have also seized a moped bike and mobile phone from the accused. A case in this regard has been registered at Bibvewadi Police Station under sections 8 (c) and 17 (b) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
