Pune: Ornaments Worth Rs 1.23 Crore Stolen From Jewellery Shop, Thieves Had Rented Adjacent Shop

Warje, 26th March 2022: In a shocking incident, thieves rented a shop next to a jeweller’s shop in Warje and broke the common wall and decamped with ornaments worth Rs 1.23 crore.

The incident took place at Mauli Jewelers in Shamim Palace building on NDA Road in Ganpati Matha, Warje, between 2 pm and 5 pm on Friday, 25th March.

According to police, the thieves had rented a shop adjacent to Mauli Jewelers for a spice business. Furnishing work was going on there so nobody suspected them. The jewellery shop was closed on Friday afternoon. Taking advantage of this, the thieves smashed the broke the wall between the two shops and entered the jewellery shop for theft.

When the owner of the shop came to open the shop in the evening, he realised the theft.  

An FIR in this regard has been registered with Warje Malwadi police station, Pune city police.
