Women’s health is a matter of concern as there is and has been a lot of taboo around it. Women often tend to neglect their health and suffer in silence. To help women lead healthy lives, Motherhood Hospital joined hands with Women’s Club Kharadi to create awareness about fitness and health issues in women.
Dr Preethika Shetty, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Motherhood Hospitals, Kharadi , said, “Women are the cornerstone of a family’s overall health. It is essential to ensure that they have access to quality. Women tend to ignore various health problems such as ovarian, breast, or cervical cancer, endometriosis, pregnancy-related issues, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), menstrual disorders, uterine fibroids, infertility, ovarian cysts, urinary tract infections (UTIs), and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) that can lower their quality of life. Timely doctor visits, diagnosis, screening, and treatment are key to staying in top shape. The hospital provides comprehensive women and childcare in a homely and comfortable environment. We aim to enhance every aspect of a woman’s life through our commitment to excellence and giving holistic care for women and children. From puberty through womanhood and old age, we seek to provide diagnoses and treatments for all kinds of gynaecological and reproductive health conditions that a woman suffers from via state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, which guarantee an experience of the highest quality.”
Dr Shetty added, “To help women improve each and every aspect of their health, a walkathon and cyclothon was organized in Kharadi. The walkathon and cyclothon started from Arissa Avenue and ended at Karachi sweet mart, Pune. First aid, ambulance services, t-shirts were also provided at the venue.”
Dr Kritika Bolia, consultant physiotherapist, Motherhood Hospital Kharadi performed warm-up and stretching exercises with participants. She explained that importance of stretching and warm-up is essential while performing the physical activities
“This initiative by Motherhood Hospital and women’s club is applause-worthy. Women are unable to look after themselves due to their erratic schedules. They have to take care of their families, do household chores, and even do office work. It is difficult to strike a work-life balance due to which women end up ignoring their health. This event helped us understand that we should prioritize our health by seeking prompt medical attention. I was elated to see the participation of women in huge numbers, and we all had a wonderful time. It was a learning experience for all of us. Looking forward to more such events by the hospital,” concluded Tripathy.
