Pune: Over 4,000 Potholes Filled In City Since June 1, Says PMC
Pune 22nd July 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has increased action against potholes on the city roads as the civic body claims to have filled over 4,000 potholes since June 1. According to officials, the ward offices have been given dedicated roads in their jurisdiction to fill the potholes.
The PMC officials are also taking swift action on complaints received from citizens as the WhatsApp Helpline started by the civic body is also receiving good response. The citizens can reach out to the Municipal Corporation and share details about potholes in their areas through WhatsApp at 9049271003.
The civic body last year had to face many protests as the bad condition of roads during the monsoon season had invited criticism from all. Several engineers and contractors were also penalised as part of action. However, this year the municipal corporation is taking more care to ensure that the potholes on the main roads in the city are filled on priority. Several roads were repaired earlier as part of work done for the G20 summit.
