Pimpri, 2nd October 2023: In commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) organized a large-scale cleanliness drive under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign. The event, held on October 1st from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., mobilized over 40,000 citizens in a collective effort to promote cleanliness and environmental responsibility.

Residents from diverse backgrounds participated enthusiastically in the ‘one-hour for cleanliness’ initiative, pledging to maintain a cleaner city. The event aimed to instill a strong sense of civic responsibility and encourage a garbage-free environment.

The campaign was graced by the presence of several key figures, including PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, local politicians, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), Members of Parliament (MPs), and other high-ranking officials. Their participation emphasized the significance of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign in fostering cleaner and healthier communities.
