Pune: Overturned Container Causes Traffic Chaos Near Raj Bhavan and University Chowk
Pune, 3rd February 2024: Chaos ensued near University Chowk as a cargo container overturned at Raj Bhavan, triggering a traffic jam on Baner, Aundh Road early on Saturday morning. The incident disrupted the morning commute for office-goers and vehicles transporting school students in the area.
The traffic flow from Sangvi to the university had to be halted, and the route from Bremen Chowk was redirected towards Bopodi. The overturned container led to a significant traffic congestion in the square in front of Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The incident occurred at around 4 am when a cargo trailer, involved in the ongoing metro work near Anandrishiji Maharaj Chowk on Ganeshkhind road, overturned while attempting a U-turn in front of Chatushringi police station near Raj Bhavan.
In response to the accident, traffic diversion measures were implemented, adding to the existing traffic snarl that occurs regularly in front of University Chowk.
