Pune: Oxford Golf League Tees Off with Spectacular Unveiling of Oxford Cup
Pune, 1st July 2023: The much-anticipated Oxford Golf League commenced today at the picturesque Oxford Golf Resort, marking the beginning of a thrilling tournament. The league was inaugurated by Anil Sevlekar from Oxford Club and Aditya Malpani from Ace Golfing, who unveiled the prestigious Oxford Golf Cup. The event kicked off at 7 am at the Oxford Golf Club, with the presence of key players from all participating teams.
The action-packed morning witnessed the first matches of the Oxford Golf Premier League in Group A. The League Club went head-to-head against Sultan of Swing, showcasing their golfing prowess. This was followed by an exciting clash between Eagle Forces and Wings Warriors, adding a vibrant touch to the tournament.
In the afternoon session, the excitement continued as AK J Pune Lions faced off against Roaring Tigers Nagpur in Group B. The match was followed by a captivating encounter between Shubban Sunrisers and Green Gladiators, leaving spectators in awe.
As the matches unfolded, the first round of the league saw remarkable performances from the teams. Eagle Forces secured 9 points, while Shubban Sunrises and AS.J. Sultan of Swing scored 9 and 8.5 points respectively. Roaring Tigers Nagpur, AK Pune Lions, The Legacy Club, Wing Warriors, and Green Gladiators accumulated 7, 5.5, 5.5, 4.5, and 4 points respectively.
With each team consisting of fifteen talented players, a total of 120 renowned golfers from across the country have come together to compete in this highly anticipated tournament. The Oxford Golf Club, known for its breathtaking views and excellent facilities, has set the stage for an enthralling four-day event. The league matches will continue on July 1, 2, and 8, with the final match scheduled for July 9.
