Pune: Oxygen Park To Be Developed At Kharadi On 7.5 Acre Land

Kharadi, January 31, 2021: An oxygen park is proposed to developed be in Kharadi. It’s the brainchild of Vadgaonsheri constituency MLA Sunil Tingre and primary inspection was done recently to finalise the land for this park.
Speaking about the same MLA Tingre said, ”The urbanisation, increasing pollution and lifestyle changes lead to several health issues among people. It is necessary to develop places where people can get clean air, therefore we decided to develop an oxygen park in Kharadi area.’’
He further informed that recently an application was given to Pune Municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar and district collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh regarding Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) funding for this park.
On January 25, the site for development of ‘Oxygen Park’ at Kharadi S. No. 30 Pittie ground was inspected by MLA Tingre along with Additional Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Kunal Khemnar. The large population of Kharadi area has increased and the citizens mainly senior citizens, children and women do not have access to good parks.
Talking about the facilities to be developed, MLA Tingre said, “In this proposed 7.5 acre Pittie ground, a magnificent 1 km jogging track, for the first time in Pune Meza garden, a separate area for yoga, a separate play section for children and trees with maximum oxygen content will be planted. In one section of this garden, Ayurvedic (medicinal) plants and trees wil be planted. A variety of flowers and a Chafa Garden wil be developed in one section. As the park is close to the river, trees will be planted with a view to creating a habitat for migratory birds & local birds.”
Additional Commissioner Kunal Khemnar also inspected the site of the park at Kharadi S.No.66. Discussions were held to provide funds from the CER fund for the development of the park in S.No. 66.
Corporator Mahendraji Pathare, PMC Garden Superintendent Preeti Sinha, Dy Commissioner Dahibhate, Ward Officer Suhas Jagtap,Manoj Pachpute, Garden officials Rudrake, Randive, Vaise and other officials of the garden department were also present on the occasion.
