Pune: Panel Clears Parth Pawar in Mundhwa Land Case, Recommends Action Against Officials
Pune, 17th February 2026: A committee led by Vikas Kharge has submitted its inquiry report to Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule regarding the alleged undervaluation of Mahar watan land in Mundhwa. The panel has reportedly given a clean chit to Parth Pawar while recommending action against two government officials linked to the transaction.
The land parcel was purchased by Parth Pawar’s firm, Amaedia, for ₹300 crore. Allegations had earlier claimed that the plot, estimated to be worth around ₹1,800 crore at prevailing market rates, was sold at a significantly undervalued price. Questions were also raised about an alleged waiver of ₹21 crore in stamp duty.
Following public criticism at the time, then Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar had announced that the transaction would be cancelled.
Subsequently, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis constituted a committee under Kharge, who was then serving as Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue), to investigate the matter. The report has now been submitted to Bawankule and is expected to be forwarded to the Chief Minister for a final decision on whether it will be accepted.
Sources indicated that the committee concluded Parth Pawar, though a partner in Amaedia, was not directly involved in the purchase and had not signed the transaction documents. Under stamp duty rules, liability rests with the party executing the sale deed.
Parth Pawar holds 99% of the shares of Amadea Enterprises LLP, while his partner, Digvijay Amarsinh Patil, who signed the documents, holds the remaining 1%. Patil, 25, is the nephew of Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar and the son of her late brother, Amarsinh Patil, who served as sarpanch of Ter village in Dharashiv (Osmanabad) district. According to the Ministry of Corporate Affairs data, Parth and Digvijay are directors of three LLPs registered in Pune.
The panel has recommended criminal proceedings against those who executed the transaction on behalf of the company. It also suggested disciplinary action against then tehsildar Suryakant Yewale and sub-registrar Taru, who were allegedly involved in facilitating the deal. Both officials were suspended after the controversy surfaced.
With no action recommended against Parth Pawar, political observers believe his prospects for a nomination to the Rajya Sabha may have improved. He is considered a potential candidate for the Upper House seat currently held by Sunetra Pawar.
