Pune: Panshet Dam Filled Upto 100% Of Its Capacity, Water Discharge Started With 650 Cusecs

Pune 14th August 2023: Despite low rainfall reported in the last few days in Pune and adjoining areas Panshet Dam was filled upto 100% of its capacity on Sunday. As a result, the irrigation department has started releasing water from the dam’s Hydro Power Station.

The officials have announced to start water discharge with 650 Cusecs from Hydro Power Station from 7 pm on Sunday. The officials from the irrigation department have also said that a decision on further discharge will be taken based on rainfall in the catchment areas.

It may be noted that the four dams in Khadakwasla cluster have reported less water storage compared to last year. According to the latest update shared on Monday, the accumulative storage in the four dams was reported at 90.75% (26.45 TMC) compared to 98.53% (28.72 TMC) reported on the same day last year.
