Pune: Parent Duped Of Rs 44 Lakhs On Pretext Of Admission To Medical College For His Daughter
Pune, 11th December 2022: A shocking case has come to light where a man cheated a construction businessman in Pune of Rs 44.50 lakhs on the pretext of getting his daughter admitted to a medical college.
A case has been registered against Mayur Shashikant Malani, a resident of Kirkatwadi, Sinhagad Road. The construction businessman living in Model Colony has filed a complaint at Deccan Police Station.
The complainant works in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. His daughter wanted to be admitted to a medical college. For this, they were trying to get admission. It was there that he met Mayur Malani in May 2016. He promised to get complainant’s daughter admitted to medical college. He told them that he had admitted many people earlier for that. Trusting him, the complainant remitted more than Rs 44 lakhs to various bank accounts from time to time, as requested by Malani.
Even after taking money, he did not admit the girl anywhere. On the contrary, when the complainant asked for the money back, he refused. In all this process, the complainant’s daughter suffered a great educational loss.
A case has been registered against Malani for cheating and misappropriation of money.
