Pune: PCMC Allocates 66 Designated Locations for Lok Sabha Election Campaigns in Pimpri-Chinchwad City

Pimpri Chinchwad, 26th March 2024: A total of 66 designated locations have been allocated for hosting public meetings and corner gatherings for the Lok Sabha elections. These spaces are exclusively reserved for political parties’ campaign activities, with no permissions granted for meetings elsewhere. To utilize these designated areas, parties or candidates must submit applications to the field offices.

Comprising the Maval, Shirur, and Baramati Lok Sabha constituencies, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has earmarked specific grounds and areas for campaigning. Notable spots include the open space behind the Dr Ambedkar Statue in Pimpri, the area adjacent to the Khandoba temple in Akurdi, and the Sanjay Kale playground in Pradhikaran. Other locations include the planned mayor’s residence open space, Madanlal Dhingra Ground, Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Ground in Shahu Nagar, PMT Chowk in Bhosari, and the square near Ankushrao Landge Auditorium.

Furthermore, venues such as Charholi Bailgada Ghat, Shivaji Maharaj Putla Chowk in Moshi, Dighi Old Jakatnaka Chowk, Dudulgaon, Bopkhel Gaonthan, Ground near Lake in Bhosari, Open Space in Pimple Gurav, and PWD Ground in Sangvi are also designated for meetings.

Within the jurisdiction of the ‘H’ Ward Office in Kasarwadi, there are 4 designated locations, while the ‘F’ Ward Office in Nigdi has only one designated spot. These venues, along with 66 others, including two in ‘B’ Ward Office limits and 34 in ‘C’ Zonal Office limits, serve as the approved spaces for political gatherings.

Assistant Commissioner of the Election Department, Avinash Shinde, said that this information has been communicated to the Collectorate, ensuring transparency and adherence to electoral regulations.
