Pune: PCMC Appoints Three Contractors To Outsource Medical Staff For 10 Hospitals

Pimpri, 9th September 2021: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) YCM Hospital and nine other hospitals will hire employees through contractors. Three contractors have been appointed for two years to provide manpower to these hospitals.

However, due to the coronavirus outbreak, the staff will be recruited for three months. It will cost Rs 11.75 crore. So, for two years, the cost of 1,038 staff in these hospitals will be Rs 94 crore.

PCMC has nine hospitals in Yamunanagar, Thergaon, Jijamata, Sangvi, New Bhosari, Bhosari, Akurdi, Talera and New Hospital in Akurdi along with the 700-bed Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital. These hospitals have permanent officers and staff of the PCMC. The Municipal Corporation also appoints other paramedical staff from medical officers on an honorarium of six months.

However, the PCMC has now decided to privatize the recruitment of staff in hospitals including YCM Hospital.

The Standing Committee has approved the appointment of three contractors, BVG India Limited, Shrikrupa Services Pvt Ltd and Ruby L Care Services Pvt Ltd, for two years through a tender process to provide manpower to these hospitals. The distribution of hospitals to the suppliers has been decided by lottery method at the meeting of the suppliers held on 31st August.

In these hospitals, Medical Officer (MBBS), Medical Officer (BAMS), Dentist, Pharmacist, Staffers, ANM, Lab Technician, ECG Technician, CSSD Technician, X-ray Technician, Blood Bank Technician, Blood Bank Counselor, Medical Social Worker Workers, Dialysis Technicians, Physiotherapists, Data Entry Operators, Store Keepers, Biomedical Engineers, Ward boys, Ward Nurses etc. will be recruited by outsourcing.
