Pune: PCMC Collects 50% Tax This Year
Pimpri, 15th December 2022: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Tax Department has collected Rs 500 crores of the target Rs 1000 crores tax for 2022-2023.
About 40% of property owners (2.32 lakh), according to Nilesh Deshmukh, head of the tax department at PCMC, cannot be reached by mail, and their properties are not connected to their mobile numbers. This 40% of the property owners owe almost 400 crore rupees.
In the PCMC limit, there are around 5.80 lakh registered properties, but only 3.01 lakh have paid taxes for the current fiscal year, and 2.79 lakh more have not.
