Pimpri, 20th April 2023: Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has warned illegal hoarding owners to submit structural strength certificates within 15 days or face criminal action. The warning comes after a meeting was held by board holders to discuss matters including the implementation of the structural audit advertising policy.

Owners of 433 illegal and 1,407 authorized billboards will need to submit two copies of ten by eight-inch photographs of the billboard to the Sky Signs and Licensing Department along with the structural strength certificate.

According to PCMC, any advertisers erecting hoardings without permission from the municipality must remove them within three days. Otherwise, the cost of removing the illegal billboard will be recovered from the advertiser, and a criminal case will be filed for disfiguring the city.

The Municipal Corporation has emphasized that action will be taken without any pressure, and no more illegal and non-compliant billboards will be seen in the city. The sustainability certificate for 433 illegal billboards in the city has not been approved by the Municipal Corporation, and if not submitted, the billboard will be deemed illegal and removed.
The full cost of removing the billboard will be recovered from the advertiser, and a case will be registered if there is an advertisement board measuring more than the approved measurement, and the increased measurement is not removed within seven days.

The Commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Shekhar Singh, has ordered license inspectors to file criminal cases against advertisers who do not follow the instructions.

The Municipal Corporation has made it clear that it will take stringent action against violators and that the illegal billboards pose a significant threat to the safety and security of the city. The Municipal Corporation has urged all billboard owners to comply with the regulations and submit the required certificates within the stipulated time to avoid legal action.
