Pune: PCMC Fixes 1,733 Potholes, Urges Citizens to Report New Ones on App
Pimpri Chinchwad, 18th August 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has filled 1,733 of the 2,247 potholes reported across the city, with work on the remaining 514 potholes underway on a priority basis.
According to a report by the civic body’s engineering department, 77.13 per cent of the identified potholes have been repaired so far. The PCMC said efforts to fill the remaining potholes are being carried out on a war footing, keeping the safety of motorists and pedestrians in mind.
Ward-wise, 121 of the 140 potholes identified in Ward A have been repaired, along with 80 of 109 in Ward B, 124 of 141 in Ward C and 215 of 234 in Ward D.
In Ward E, 330 of 459 potholes have been filled, while 109 of 151 in Ward F, 170 of 259 in Ward G, 87 of 118 in Ward H, 51 of 56 in Ward J and 305 of 332 in Ward T have been repaired.
The Urban Transport Department has filled 133 of 240 potholes, while the Engineering Projects Department has repaired eight of the nine potholes identified under its jurisdiction.
The PCMC has also urged residents to report potholes through the ‘Report Pothole’ facility available on its Smart Sarathi PCMC app.
Residents can upload a photograph of the pothole, its precise GPS location, address and approximate size while filing a complaint. Once a complaint is registered, the concerned department conducts a site inspection and takes necessary action.
A complaint number is generated for each report, allowing citizens to track its status online. Once the pothole is repaired, the complaint is closed and the citizen is informed.
The civic body has appealed to residents to download the Smart Sarathi PCMC app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and use the PCMC Services → Report Pothole option to report potholes.
“Whenever you spot a pothole, take a photograph, record its location and report it through the Smart Sarathi PCMC app. Cooperate with the municipal corporation’s efforts to ensure safer roads,” PCMC Commissioner Dr Vijay Suryawanshi said.
