Pune: PCMC Launches Special Campaign To Reclaim Footpaths In Pimpri-Chinchwad City
Pimpri, 2nd September 2023: Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Singh has announced a special campaign set to begin on September 5th, aimed at clearing encroachments from footpaths within Pimpri-Chinchwad city, Pune.
The campaign’s primary goal is to eradicate encroachments on the city’s footpaths, enhancing convenience for pedestrians. The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s overarching objective is to develop roads that cater to the city’s traffic demands. Extensive efforts are being undertaken to provide citizens with pedestrian paths, cycle lanes, and roads optimized for public transport.
The PCMC has also constructed bicycle lanes for children at various locations across the city, a move that has garnered a positive response from residents. However, encroachments have cropped up in several areas, and Commissioner Singh has affirmed that these will be promptly addressed and removed.
