Pimpri, 27th September 2023: As Ganeshotsav celebrations reach their peak, the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has unveiled a comprehensive plan to ensure a safe and eco-friendly Ganesh immersion. The plan includes a range of emergency services and environmental protection measures.

Commissioner Shekhar Singh confirmed that major Ganesh immersion ghats across the city are fully prepared for the festivities. The PCMC has stationed well-equipped ambulances, medical teams, lifeguards, fire brigade personnel, disaster management teams, and security forces at these locations.

The Municipal Corporation is committed to ensuring a safe and joyful conclusion to this year’s Ganeshotsav while also focusing on environmental conservation. Medical supplies and medicines have been stocked at key immersion ghats, including Smashan Ghat in Kalewadi, Ganesh Lake in Nigdi Pradhikaran, and several others. These medical teams comprise medical officers, staff nurses, paramedics, ambulance drivers, and support staff.

To promote eco-friendly practices, the PCMC is collaborating with voluntary organizations to collect idols. Artificial immersion tanks and Nirmalya Kunds have been set up at Ganesh Visarjan Ghats. The fire department has positioned fire brigades at 26 immersion ghats, equipped with essential rescue materials like life jackets, rings, boats, megaphones, and ropes. Staff have also been designated through regional offices to manage the necessary arrangements at the respective Ganesh Visarjan ghats.
