Pimpri, 30th May 2023: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has submitted a revised proposal to the state government for the establishment of a new nursing college. The college is planned to be set up in the new building of Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH). With a capacity to accommodate 200 nursing staff, the proposed nursing college aims to address the growing demand for trained healthcare professionals in the region.

The initial proposal was submitted by the PCMC last year; however, the state government requested additional clarification, leading to a delay in the approval process. Taking into account the state’s concerns, the civic body has now sent a revised proposal, seeking the necessary approval to proceed with the project.

The new nursing college will offer a four-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) Nursing course. While awaiting approvals from various relevant agencies, the college is expected to become fully operational in the upcoming academic year.

Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) is a crucial healthcare facility that provides affordable medical care to patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad and neighboring villages. The establishment of the nursing college will help alleviate the workload on the existing staff by training and incorporating more nursing professionals to meet the increasing demand for healthcare services in the area.
