Pimpri Chinchwad, 11th June 2026: The Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police have received 1,365 complaints related to various traffic violations through their WhatsApp chatbot helpline launched earlier this year, with officials claiming that all verified complaints were addressed within 24 hours after they were received.

The online complaint mechanism was introduced as part of a special traffic enforcement drive aimed at encouraging greater public participation in reporting violations and improving road discipline across the city.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vikrant Deshmukh said rapid urbanisation, industrial expansion and a growing number of vehicles on the roads have contributed to an increase in traffic-related issues in Pimpri Chinchwad. To strengthen enforcement efforts, the traffic police launched a dedicated WhatsApp chatbot through which citizens can submit photographs and details of traffic violations.

The initiative, launched under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey and Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, allows residents to report a range of issues, including traffic rule violations, congestion, unauthorised parking, abandoned vehicles, signal jumping, road obstructions and the movement of heavy vehicles in restricted zones.

According to traffic police officials, every complaint received through the platform is verified before action is initiated against violators. Officials said the chatbot has emerged as an effective tool for bridging the gap between citizens and enforcement agencies while enabling quicker resolution of traffic-related grievances.

The department has appealed to residents to continue using the service and actively support efforts to improve traffic management in the city. Complaints can be lodged through WhatsApp on the dedicated helpline number 8975959555.

The ongoing enforcement drive will continue through June, with officials expressing hope that increased citizen engagement will help tackle recurring traffic problems and promote better compliance with road safety norms across Pimpri Chinchwad.
